Adventure part 1... Stuck on a motorway

Aloha ohana!

Sunday was supposed to be a grand adventure to Cumbria! For those who are Geographically challenged, that's in the north of England. Not Africa as my sister thought. You'll get to meet the reason of the adventure in part two! So off we went trundling along, keeping within the speed limit mind you, with not a care in the world other than who could see the Eddie Stobart lorries first.

Then. Disaster. "Phone your dad, the oil lights come on, will I need to stop?" Said Mum
"No! No! No! Stop the car! Pull over!" Said Dad.

It was raining, we were standing looking all the cars heading to their destinations thinking that our little adventure had reached its end.

But we were not to be beaten! All you need to keep yourself occupied on the side of the motorway is a decent knowledge of song lyrics and the general grasp of eye spy. Boom. Nobody can hear you belting out songs from "Summer of 69" by Bryan Adams to "Zero to Hero" from Disney's Hercules.

By the time the AA man arrived we were giggling and smiling and fully emerged in our little adventure without a care for the fact that it was raining and we'd got soaked and it was windy. It might not have been what we had planned, but without that little issue with the car (it was fine by the way, turns out our car has an oil light to tell you that the oil light will soon be coming on...point?!?) then we would never have been able to have our odd little underpaid busking session by the side of a motorway and we would never have played the most intense competitive game of eye spy!

Just because an adventure doesn't go as planned, doesn't make it any less of an adventure. We had the best time in part 1, and I'll tell you all about part two next time! Until then!

Much love,

Look at poor Max :( with his stoopid extra oil light!
